Ballot return deadlines…

Heading into midterms, check out this chart of absentee ballot deadlines by state. Yesterday the Supreme Court heard a case brought by the RNC that seeks to define “Election Day” in order to stop Democrats from accepting ballots days — weeks - after Election Day.

 

The SAVE Act…

The fake-news media is in hysterics.

Before, they were up in arms about immigration enforcement, fair trade, and protecting women’s spaces

Now, their latest outrage has to do with a piece of legislation working its way through Congress.

The SAVE Act is “voter suppression.”

It’s “Jim Crow 2.0,” or some sinister Republican plot to dismantle democracy.

It’s the same leftist gaslighting we’ve heard for years.

But was does the SAVE Act actually do?

Here’s the truth: The Safeguard American Voter Eligibility (SAVE) Act requires proof of U.S. citizenship to register for federal elections.

Translation: non-citizens and illegals can’t sway our elections—a problem that has gone unaddressed for far too long.

I address this problem in my new book:

We also know why the Democrats love open borders. It isn’t just about cultivating future voters (giving them a pathway to citizenship); it’s also about affecting the census. It’s about bodies in the country, not just citizens.

So let’s break down why this common sense legislation has the Left besides themselves.

🚨 TRUMP DELIVERS HAMMER TO EUROPE: No More Digital Tax Games

President Trump just fired a clear warning shot:

Multiple European countries are pushing a Digital Services Tax on American companies.

His message: Any country that imposes this tax will face immediate 100% TARIFFS on ALL goods sent to the United States.

This tariff will override any existing or future trade deals. No exceptions. It hits the second they try it.

America will not be taken advantage of anymore.

Drugs coming in by sea are down by 91% as decisions are being made to strike down drug smugglers in the Caribbean Sea.

WaPo created a media frenzy when it fabricated a story about a drug boat strike. Highly decorated 4 Star Admiral Bradley sent a second strike on a drug boat after the first strike was inefficient. The decision to strike the boat again was based on the cargo in the boat being retrieved by the cartels and resent to America, not the survivors of the strike.

Tim Parlatore is a legal expert and a reserve Navy JAG Commander. He joins the Sean Spicer Show today to discuss how these operations are formulated through an extensive legal process combined with intelligence gathering. The decision to strike a boat is well-formulated, and Admiral Bradley acted within the rules of engagement.

Behind the Podium: 5 Rules for Surviving the White House Briefing Room...

From the 30th White House Press Secretary to the 37th: My Advice for Katie Zacharia

In case you forgot - and take my word for it, there’s no need to search the archives - I had a tough first outing behind the podium as White House Press Secretary.

So when the new White House Press Secretary, Katie Zacharia, stepped up for her first briefing this week, I immediately recognized the immense pressure of that room. Like my own debut, her first outing didn’t go exactly as it was drawn up on the whiteboard. While I had originally planned to brief on the first full workday following a long three-day holiday weekend, the President had other plans.

Unlike Katie, however, I entered the briefing room with a few built-in advantages. I had weeks of mock briefings under my belt with the staff, along with over a week of on-camera transition briefings. The team surrounding me was composed largely of colleagues I had worked alongside for years. Plus, I had decades of experience navigating the Washington press corps and over two decades in government - serving as Assistant U.S. Trade Representative, two decades in the military, and working for more than ten members of Congress.

Katie’s first day on the job was a federal holiday. I wonder if she even had time to get issued a badge and computer, let alone process the mountain of onboarding paperwork. Then, just hours later, she was sent out to address an unfamiliar, hungry press corps expecting her to speak authoritatively on every issue from domestic economic strategy to complex foreign policy.

Having stood at that podium, taken the heat, and managed the daily pressure cooker of the White House briefing room, here are 5 crucial lessons for surviving - and thriving - in one of the toughest jobs in politics.

The 13-Day Vanishing Act: How James Talarico Bungled the Flu

In the middle of a high-stakes campaign, momentum is everything. When candidates disappear, voters start asking questions - and when the candidate’s explanation doesn’t line up, those questions turn into severe political liability.

Enter Texas Democrat Senate nominee James Talarico.

After returning from a late-September campaign trip to New York City, Talarico essentially vanished off the campaign grid for nearly two weeks. When pressed on his whereabouts, his team cited a case of the flu. But as the days dragged on without a video message, a quick phone call, or a simple “proof of life” post, speculation spread rapidly across social media.

Reminiscent of Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin’s unannounced absence or John Kerry failing to quickly address attacks on his military record during his 2004 campaign, Talarico’s campaign allowed a minor health hiccup to morph into a major crisis of transparency.

Worse yet, the story keeps shifting. First came reports of an urgent care visit on the way back from NYC; then over the weekend, he told an NBC reporter he had seen his primary care doctor.

When a candidate disappears for nearly two weeks right before Election Day, “the math just isn’t mathing.”

Find Your Ice Bucket: How Republicans Can Win the Final 30 Days

In the lead-up to the 1994 midterm elections - when Republicans flipped the House of Representatives for the first time in over 40 years - Newt Gingrich carried a very simple prop with him to campaign stops across the country.

It was an ordinary ice bucket.

 

To the average voter, it looked like a random gimmick. But to Newt, it was a physical symbol of everything that was wrong with Washington.

Here’s the backstory: for decades, House patronage rules dictated that a congressional staffer would deliver fresh ice to every member’s office twice a day. By the 1990s, every single congressional office already had a modern refrigerator and freezer inside - making the ice delivery service completely obsolete. But because politicians love spending taxpayer money to preserve cushy patronage jobs, the daily ice delivery remained in place year after year.

Ending that program in the 1990’s saved around $300,000 - a drop in the bucket compared to the federal budget. But that ice bucket became a stark, undeniable visual for working Americans: Washington was burning your hard-earned tax dollars on useless, outdated nonsense.

As we head into the final 30 days of this election cycle, every Republican running for Congress needs to find their own ice bucket.
