Pelley FIRED from 60 Minutes...
Scott Pelley just gave America a masterclass in media arrogance.
Per the New York Times, Pelley was fired on Tuesday “after a contentious staff meeting where he admonished management and criticized the long-running show’s new direction.”
The longtime 60 Minutes anchor flatly refused to meet one-on-one with CBS’s new leadership. What? Refusing to meet with you new boss?
Then, to boot, he attacked the new boss — and his boss - in the staff meeting.
Firing seems like an appropriate response by CBS, right?
Not according to Pelley.
In his public statement, he referred to himself as the “steward” of the show — as if he owns it.
That’s not how employment works, Scott.
It’s like a renter trying to dictate remodeling instructions to the homeowner.
The sheer entitlement is astounding—let’s break it down.
