Wellness update...
If you watch the show or have been reading the newsletter for a while you know I have been on my own MAHA/wellness journey. One of the big things I have done is switched out many of the personal care products (soap, toothpaste, vitamins, etc) and home care products (cleaning supplies, detergent) with products from an American based, family company where wellness is front and center.

Make American agriculture great again...
You’ve heard me talk about MAHA.
Today I want to talk about an aspect of MAHA that doesn’t get a lot of coverage: the farmers and ranchers that actually raise the products we consume.
America first means agriculture too.
But striking the balance between consumer prices and American profitability can be tough.
It’s easy to jump on the bandwagon complaining about high prices, but it’s worth it to take a step back and ask what benefits all of America.
Farmers and ranchers have dealt with price controls and unfair markets for decades, it’s high time for a change.
After all, the rural base is a huge part of what got Trump and this Republican Congress elected.
These folks are the backbone of America; they literally feed us—and a good chunk of the rest of the world.
But with a storm brewing in the beef market, people are starting to ask questions about what the right move is, both for America’s ranchers and the country as a whole.
Let’s break it down
A balancing game…
Last week, Trump commented to reporters on the beef market.
“That would be the one product that we would say is a little bit higher than we’d want it. Maybe higher than we want it. And that’s gonna be coming down pretty soon too. We did something, we worked our magic.”
Trump’s touching on a real consumer concern here.
High food prices are our reality right now—it’s not just beef.
Here’s the problem: ranchers don’t get raises. While their expenses go up year-to-year, prices don’t always reflect that.
They’re dealing with the same raised prices that we are, but their “wages” aren’t going up to match that.
The “high” prices are really just proportional to the current economy.
It’s our short term reality while Trump works to reform American trade, and put our industries first.
But ranchers felt the sting when these comments sent the markets plummeting.
Luckily the markets are already recovering this week, but it highlights the problem you run into when trying to change the market.
We run into the same problem with grain markets.
Currently, China isn’t buying American soybean, making prices low for our grain farmers.
China claims this retaliation for the tariffs President Trump slapped on them. I’ve talked about tariffs before—and I still believe that short term pain is worth the long term gain of American independence.
But agriculture is unique.
While markets fluctuate according to politics, farmers’ expenses continue to grow, shrinking their profits and making it hard to keep going.
They’re facing a system that’s been rigged against them for years.
High tariff and non tariff barriers to foreign markets block their ability to export, while foreign imports lower the prices in the domestic market.
We’ve got to protect them too.
The bottom line
Trump’s been floating the idea of buying Argentine beef to lower prices here at home.
I get it—he wants to help out consumers.
But American farmers have to make a living too.
It’s that balancing game I talked about.
Small American farms aren’t just the backbone of America, they raise the type of quality product we need to MAHA.
Foreign beef just doesn’t compare.
These folks have been Trump’s base from the beginning.
They’ve been willing to give him the time and benefit to work on fixing the long term problem.
But right now they’re stuck between a rock and a hard place. . .we’ve got to share the burden to make sure America is stronger in the long term.
Small family farms are worth protecting.
American food independence is just as important as our industrial and manufacturing independence.
After years of drought and rigged systems, we’ve got to give our ranchers the chance to rebuild herds and get back on track to continue delivering high-quality U.S. product to the country.
Short term pain is worth the long term payout of American food independence.
When America’s farmers and ranchers win, we all win.
